I reassembled it and set up the springs, tightened everything down and did the exact same procedure on the other side. I knew i was on to something now, it had to be a solution to the problems i was having. I was right. The ride was noticeably more firm all around, with an overdampened feel, but not springy in the least. It worked. A trip around town and some freeway driving confirmed my initial observations of firmness and overdampening, while swells and dips now produced far less undulation than before. It seems that i've finally figured out the mysterious springy feeling, that's what i get for being one of the first i guess!
